A Memorial to Remember!

Uncle J and soon-to-be Auntie Suzanne came to play and my little man was in HEAVEN! Suzanne is AMAZING with kids and it was so fun to have them stay for a few days.

On Memorial day we visited family up in Lake of the Pines and Bo even got to drive the boat.

Bo actually got in the chilly waters and splashed around with Daddy until his teeth chattering sent him into convulsions. He was so brave, though, and for those of you that know Bo, this is not typical. He was probably trying to impress his new besties: J and Suzanne.

Sailing Sausalito

Saturday Sailing Trip + Beautiful Weather + Hot Husband = BEST DATE EVER!

Our amazing date started in Sausalito where we had lunch on the water before we boarded our afternoon excursion on the bay. Gus’s parents gave us the sailing cruise as a Christmas present, and what an amazing gift it was! We embraced the opportunity to escape for the day and simply enjoy each other without interruption from our two little rambunctious rugrats.

The views were picturesque; it was a perfect, rarely-seen, clear day! We sailed from Sausalito to the bay by Belvedere and Tiburon, and we could see everything from the GG Bridge, Alcatraz, Coit Tower and even the Bay Bridge.

But as soon as we got out into the opens waters heading toward SF, things quickly went from this…



to this…

While Gus was literally clinging onto the mast to prevent a clean slip into the ocean, it was at this point that we realized why no one had joined us up front.

Between laughing hysterically and sliding back and forth while the boat was tacking, we lost a few items into the sea and spilled many contents of our beverages. All the while, Captain Clark managed to STAND UP (!) and take some photos of us. This guy was AMAZING.

After an amazing 3 hour tour of the bay, life-threatening fun and all (yes, I’m totally exaggerating unless you ask Gus about it), we capped the evening off with an amazing dinner in Tiburon and a drive around Belvedere. I’ve never been over to that side of the bay and once again, the views were some of the best I’ve ever seen of San Francisco:

May has been an amazing month for Gus and I; we’ve gotten to spend so much time together and go on more fantastic dates than we have in a long time. Gus Sr. and Gerry, thanks so much for spending the day with Bo and Ace and sending us on one the most romantic, exciting and gorgeous dates ever!

Through the Lens of a Toddler…

We know that Bo isn’t camera shy, but he may or may not have a future behind the lens.

He was taking all these pics below and all the while, he was laughing hysterically! It was absolutely adorable, and these are some of my favorites:

Picture Perfect?

If you want your sweet toddler to smile, don’t do what I do: tell them you’re taking a picture and ask them to smile.

At the time, I was so frustrated with these brow-furrowing, will-not-smile-no-matter-what pics, but now I ADORE them. Picture perfect, indeed!

Bo, Our Favorite Character

Bo decides he “must be Robin Hood” for a few days after he visits Sherwood Forest in Fairytale Town.

Then he “HAS to wear his pirate gear” the next few days whilst channeling Captain Hook.

This poor child below does all he can to keep up with his big brother…

Whether this is a stage Bo is going through, or he is destined to star in his generation’s adaptation of GLEE, one thing is FOR SURE, he is passionate about his art.

Bo, you are an ABSOLUTE riot and we LOVE your characters. My only request is that you never say this again, “Ace, I will gut you.”

Obviously, I haven’t been censoring his Disney movies.

Cinco De Bacho!

Wow! We just had another amazing weekend in a row. Gus and I pretty much decided we need to travel/play this much every Spring to make up for lost time during season (and sorry, this is why all of these posts are soooo past due! Too much distraction…a.k.a. best month ever!).
