A Perfect Present

Our stop overnight in San Luis Obispo was necessary for everyone’s sanity on our way home from SoCal.

And I got to wake up to a beautiful beach day with my favorite people in the world on my birthday.

Quality time is my #1. I honestly don’t care for nice things or possessions, but I do need a lot of attention from my soul-mate, and I require a lot of quality time with these four to feel fulfilled. I’m 32 today and I’m spilling over.

Baby Jax

The long drive, with frequent napping (YES, SCORE!!!!) was so worth it…

when I got to snuggle this lil’ Chiesl-Turner miracle.

and the boys got to snuggle the other child:

This is one BEAUTIFUL and EASY newborn.

And this is one AMAZING and INTUITIVE new mom:

IMG_0709

And one good-looking Daddy; Jax, you are one blessed little dude.

IMG_0711

As usual, we combined Daddy’s recruiting with a family trip, so someone’s birthday was bound to be celebrated in SoCal, yet again.

IMG_0716

This 4-yr-old was giggling and screaming all the way down the steps in anticipation of his blue birthday in all its glory at 7 am.

We got to see the Dubosts and the Waltons who all came over to celebrate the birthday boy with Legos and laughs.

IMG_0751

And I finally got to toast the more-than-ever beautiful, new mom.

And before we hit the freeway to head home…

Moving Up the Hill

So we found a unique “Bay Area Cottage” just a stones throw away from Gus’s new Campus, so despite reservations we went for it. And here we go again…

IMG_0590

I am not a fan of old homes. In fact, we swore after living in another very “charming” very “old” home in West U, we wanted something personality-less and new. Well, in the Bay Area, that just was not an option and the location was too good to pass up. And the views (from our Landlord’s spacious patio) are gorgeous.

IMG_0591

Every day we see deer and wild turkeys outside our windows and the boys are loving it! Our neighborhood has a rural feel to it. It’s very removed from the hustle and bustle of Hayward flatlands, which is great in some ways, but I also like being close to a fun downtown.

IMG_0592

But with a little help..

IMG_0606

It begins to feel like home.

IMG_0593

And if there’s a park nearby…

We’re IN!

July Jetsetters..

Fourth of July with the Clinks, Van Horns and Gray’s even if we leave the next morning for Miami at 6am? ABSOLUTELY!

IMG_0501

IMG_0510

IMG_0511

With just 3 days to jet-set to Miami to celebrate Jake and Ingrid, and then back to move into our little cottage, we had to YOLO-style the entire weekend.

IMG_0536

This crew…hilarious night as always.

IMG_0548

IMG_0550

The to-die-for turquoise water of Miami NEVER EVER GETS OLD.

IMG_0555

and when you are a full-time Mommy, dressing up doesn’t either.

IMG_0562

And who better to YOLO with than these two?

IMG_0567

The wives of Gus’s college best friends couldn’t be more amazing and it’s such a fun reunion every time.

IMG_0570

IMG_0571

And of course, the Bride and Groom were absolutely stunning; they were made for each other.

And the shuttle back to the hotel may have been a highlight, but I don’t remember.

IMG_0578

Wish we lived closer to these two…

IMG_0583

And then after the vacation zooms by and you’re already off the plane feeling a tad blue and exhausted…you’re greeted by two amazing people that couldn’t have missed you more. And this is reason #335 why children are the best thing in life.
