Holiday Visitors–Part 2

Within hours of Auntie Suzanne hittin’ the road, the newlyweds and Grandpa Frank came from California to visit! So.Much.Fun!

IMG_2476

Just like last time, these two peas in the pod below, became insta-buddies and played NON-STOP! Where does Uncle Mike get that energy? The first night they were here, Gus, Mike and Bo played pirates and chased each other around the house sword-fighting for over 30 minutes.

And as usual, my extremely clingy Acers, loved the token baby whisperer, Grandpa Frank, who also got to celebrate his birthday with us in Houston!

Mike’s precious and sweet niece, Ally!

Mike’s family lives in Houston, so his sister, Jenny, and I have been hanging out. Not only is it AWESOME that I have a new friend, but Bo and Greg (Mike’s nephew) are having so much fun.IMG_2544

We spent the best few days with Auntie Molls+baby Chiesl, Uncle Mike and Granpda Frank, walking around West U and Rice Village, playing in the street in front of our house and eating A LOT of yummy food. After all, Auntie Molls is eating for two now. : )

Just a side note, I wasn’t the only West U resident to put up Christmas décor. This house specifically was already decked out pre-thanksgiving and we all LOVED these ornaments…even though Turkey day is still in the queue.

Cinderella, the Crocodile Hunter

I lose misplace things.  In fact, if it wasn’t for my college roommates, I would’ve lost misplaced my wallet every time I used it. Unfortunately, among many college “traits” left behind, I had to bring this defunct short-term memory into my mommy years.

Never, ever, EVER have I lost so many items as I have running with my double-wide kiddo-ride. But I don’t work alone these days. From sippy cups, to blankets, stuffed animals, and balls, these two are the MAIN CULPRITS! It’s all fun and games until someone loses shoe.

IMG_1333

Well, amidst my many lost items hopefully bringing joy to others around the globe, there are a few success stories.

IMG_2287

I had JUST bought these crocs the day before, and I wanted to RIP my hair out when I saw Acey’s naked toes. I was DETERMINED to find it. We tracked our path and actually FOUND IT! Bo kept telling me not to “give up.” Aw, that kid is a cutie sometimes.

Less than a week later, Acey lost another shoe on a run. I found it the next day on someone’s lawn. Did my College Roomies move to West U?

Holiday Visitors - Part 1

Though it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at the Argenal abode, it wasn’t even Thanksgiving yet. But I have two good excuses for being those overzealous holiday neighbors: Auntie Suzanne was coming and I thought it would be fun to include her in the decorating party and secondly, it has become a family tradition when Daddy is on a winter road trip, we always put up lights when to surprise him.

This year Bo, Ace and Auntie Suzanne were a HUGE help. As you can see, Ace was MVP.

The next day we took advantage of the warm weather and went running out at Memorial Park. One of MOST FUN things about my future sis-in-law is that she loves to be active and we always get in a fun workout with the kiddos when she’s here.

And what could be better than finishing off a fun workout than burning more calories chasing your nephew around at the park?

Multi-tasking

With family coming in the next few days before Thanksgiving, and with Daddy out on the road, I needed reinforcements!

IMG_2363

Not only was Bo teaching Ace how to thoroughly wash ink off the wall…

IMG_2367

Ace showed Bo how to have fun doing it…

IMG_2368

…whilst remaining hydrated.

Red is IN!

Houston has a new red-head this week and she’s quite the lil’ showstopper! The little Van Horn came with her Momma and Daddy to check out our new digs and to SHOWER her cuzzies with a million of her signature x’s and o’s.

This girl is quite possibly the SWEETEST, most affectionate and outgoing toddler I have EVER been around. So pretty much, she’s the BEST.

IMG_2165

Surprisingly, Bo and Reecer had a cute little bond and hilarious time together; OF COURSE, like she’s a new toy, he was obsessed. And not only is that girl sweet, she is NO SISSY. Bo can be a little ruff and tumble with the ladies, and Reece was all about it. Reminds me so much of her TOUGH momma.

IMG_2174

And of course these two August Cancers had many stimulating conversations…

“Actually, Reece, I quite prefer 2% milk.”

IMG_2190

And lot’s of laughs…

And 5 days of exploring Ace’s new city.

It was so FUN to have the Van Horn’s come visit us, especially since we spent almost EVERY weekend with them when we lived in Sacramento. We miss that Family so much and we CAN’T WAIT to meet Capri Belle. She is a BLESSED gal to be a Van Horn daughter, and to have such a beautiful, loving sister in Reecers!

Happy Halloween!

Finally, an actual blog post about October 31st. We had an absolute BLAST in October and Bo sincerely went through a post-Halloween grieving period. Was the big day as delightfully spooky as it’s cracked up to be? YES, YES, YES!

First stop? A walk to the Rice Owls gym for some early costuming around town.

And let the treating festivities begin…

Our new neighborhood is becoming HOME and the hoards of trick-or-treaters left us bare; we had to give out cookies and snacks from the cupboard! So many kids!!!!

IMG_2148

IMG_2158

These two new walkers were TROOPERS! They walked and walked and got TONS of candy and thankfully dropped most of it along the way. Except of course, for the one lollipop that they so gracefully shared, and yes, that’s a toddler drool pool on the kitchen floor.
