Easter 2011!

IMG_4973IMG_4976IMG_4982IMG_4984

Bo decorated his first eggs, embraced his first egg hunt, and made a new friend in his cousin, Nico! He also got to feed worms to Great Auntie’s super-friendly chickens.

Nico was such a big helper for Bo and showed him how to get around his Grandma’s garden and chicken coop! Bo talked about Nico for 2 days afterwards!

It was so nice to see Grandma Great and my Dillon Family! It had been too long.

By far, the worms and the chickens gobbling them down was Bo’s favorite event of the day! Thanks Aunt Dana and Uncle Pat for having us!!!

Bo’s Easter Train!

We started Bo’s Easter morning off right with his first real train ride. Grandma Argenal and Mimi Turner met us in Old Sacramento for a river view by rail before the big Egg Hunt.

Bo was very serious and quiet throughout the 40 minute ride. Deep thoughts about Thomas, Percy and James (Thomas and Friends show is his favroite!) must’ve been dominating his thoughts…

A Weekend with "Auntie Nat"

Natalie came to visit all the way from New York and we started the weekend off with a trip to the BEST COLLEGE EVER...

Within minutes of being on the UC Davis Campus, Bo got his first taste of the Aggie Band-Uh as they paraded right by us! He was a little shell-shocked by the noise or perhaps it was the amazing dance moves they are so famous for...

I made the Fam trek around the thousands, yes thousands of people on campus, to visit a few of the MANY events that I knew Bo would love! Picnic Day is like nothing I remember (um, and not because of the reasons many of you are all thinking). There were so many events, so many people, it was almost nauseating. My Fam got a taste of how big the campus is as we made the trek from the former "Rec Hall" all the way downtown.

Bo LOVED the fire trucks and helicopter displays, of course!

And Daddy loved the beer pong table at Beach Hut Deli - yes, we actually went to the Beach Hut for lunch (there is one in Chico where we are regulars) since EVERY SINGLE restaurant downtown had a line that went around the corner!

Look closely and you can see a round Baby Vanhorn on the right!

The pregnant wives waited in the warm sun while Gus showed the crew how to drink a Wicky-Wacky-Woo, or 2 or 3...

The whole mood had changed when they emerged from Cafe Bernardos, after several "Wickies"...

Gus and his cousin, Joey, continued to wrestle until 11pm that night....

No idea who this guy is in the middle?

Bo also made a new friend in Sarah (cousin Joey's fabulous girlfriend) She played with him all day. Lucky Kid. : )

Bo also made a few new "friends" when he ran into the middle of their game and got poised for a pitch! CRAZY CHILD!

It was so much fun to be back on campus where it all began for the Argenals! Davis has grown into a stunning downtown with so much to offer! The only drawback was the amount of people enjoying picnic day made it difficult to enjoy any of the new additions.

The next few days included a trip to get Easter pics at the mall and "Auntie Nat" bought Bo the COOLEST helicopter ever!

Grandma Great, Lukey, and Emmy also joined the Fam for a walk to the preschool park next to Kate and Jesse's. Bo got to walk Ruby and has never been so serious and concentrated in his life!

We miss Auntie Nat already. We sincerely owe her a visit to NYC; it's been too long!!!!
We'll be there in 2012, Nat, I promise!

Bo's Bestie

For those of you that know Hannah and Gus well, you have witnessed us be competitive with each other over ridiculous and childish things. The fact that we think almost everything is funny prevents this silly competition from ever becoming too serious. So only truly immature parents like us would rub it in when Bo decides who his favorite parent of the week is.

This week, Bo's bestie build forts, has wrestling matches, and spa "swimming lessons"... sometimes all in one night!

To be perfectly honestly, I love it when the Boy's club dominates our house! Gus becomes insta-Dad-of-the-Year when he gets home from work until Bo's bedtime. They are truly best friends and it's absolutely precious! Do I ever feel left out?
NEVER! Why not?

Because I know I'm Bo's favorite. heehee.
Ok, ok, it did bother me once the other day when I tried to join in on couch story-time and Bo said, "No, No, Mama...Bye Bye!" That lil' stinker!
