The Beauty of the Bay

One of the best parts of living in Hayward is its close proximity to one of the BEST CITIES in the WORLD!!!

On a clear day, the view from Coit Tower overlooking all the sailboats and Alcatraz is beyond stunning. I have such vivid memories of coming here with my family as a child; it is such a unique experience to live close enough that we can now take our kids for a daytrip.

And the new bridge! We finally got our own up close and personal view.

After the Exploratorium was a bit of a bust (I do not recommend for young children), we decided to embrace the sun and head to the beach just below the Cliff House. It was brilliantly sunny and we got sandy.

East Bay in The Ranch

We got to take the staff up to Gus’s parents Sea Ranch house for a great little retreat before the season takes over. With Coach Tyler’s boys along, we had four boys, ages 4 and under.

What better way to get to know the new staff and families than sitting on the deck overlooking a north coast sunset?

The weather was beautifully warm on Saturday, so we got a perfect Nor Cal beach day!

And Coach Flores being the youngin’ of the crew quickly became besties with Acers.

They may look like “a bunch of 12 year olds” but this new staff has passion, wisdom, and enthusiasm that far exceeds their ages. Go East Bay!

Preschool and Prayers…

Too big things happened for two cousins this week.

Baby Prashad (cousin to Bo and Ace) was officially named in a Hindu naming ceremony. A lot of the extended Argenal family came to witness and it was so fun to see everyone and also take part in the spiritual ceremony. The boys were fascinated.

And what a lucky boy Prashad is to be born to such loving and special parents!

And we also have ourselves a preschooler! Bo was so beyond elation and Gus and I were both in tears. What a proud day it is and also a little heartwrenching that our tiny baby “bobo”, “bauky dauky” once a pirate-loving, train-obsessing, abominable-snowman-fearing toddler is now a Preschooler!!!

Adventures in Hayward

It was time to play in our new backyard. And surprisingly, we found some cute spots and tons of neighborly fun in Hayward.

Sulphur Creek Nature Center is free to the public and the boys finally got a peek at the fastest bird in the world, the Peregrine Falcon.

And the two girls next door quickly became a staple at our new house and play-dates were the HIGHLIGHT of the Argenal boys’ afternoons.

And these budding artists are still keeping busy in the Hayward great indoors as well…
